Boat Hire
Marine Department operates a dedicated flotilla of specialist vessels, carefully chosen to meet the demands of most marine projects. Where additional vessels are required, we know exactly where to source them.
Our boats are far from standard off-the-shelf models. Most are built for the Military or RNLI, while others have been specifically adapted for filming and on-water operations. Each vessel is meticulously maintained to ensure peak reliability and performance. All our trailers can be configured for off-road use, allowing us to deploy boats to remote or hard-to-reach locations with ease.

We have a proven track record of sourcing all manner of picture boats to either purchase or charter for productions. From Coricles, Steam Drifters, Rivas to Container ships, we understand the need for the right aesthetic to realise a vision or be representative of a moment in time. Beyond sourcing, we can help consult on builds, charter agreements, negotiation of picture rights and organise transportation, including safe return post shoot.
SFX Boats
We provide specialist SFX boats designed to support practical effects on water. Whether you’re staging controlled explosions, water dumps, fire effects, or towing rigs, our vessels are configured to work seamlessly with SFX teams while maintaining strict safety standards. We can supply stable platforms for pyrotechnics, chase boats for effects support, or custom-modified vessels for specific stunt requirements.
Modular Pontoon
We supply modular pontoon systems tailored for film and TV productions on water. Easily configured into platforms, walkways, or access points, they provide safe and practical working spaces where traditional boats or infrastructure aren’t suitable.
